Default Stock Muffler Construction?

Could someone post a picture or diagram of how a stock C6 muffler is constructed. Would like to see the path of the exhaust flow as it passes through the muffler.

I have an excellent picture of one cut open. Send me an e-mail at sjjohnson@securenet.net and I'll send it to you.

Having not seen the photos there may be an obvious answer to this question but I'll ask anyway.

What inspired you to cut open a set of C6 mufflers?

I have been considering acquiring a used set of OEM mufflers, gutting them, welding the top back on and then installing on my '05. This would give the look of stock but certainly not the sound and definitely a few more HP. If I don't like them I would have my original pipes to put back on.

I was going to gut and weld mine back up but it was too much of a PIA.

What is the real purpose behind this, beef up the sound or hp? Would drone play a part in this particular fabrication? Just wondering.

Sound in my case. You aren't going to gain much from an exhaust.

I didn't cut them open, they were/are on display at Eckler's in Titusville, FL. and I couldn't resist getting a pic of them.

I cut mine open and gutted them...If anyone wants them and is local, they are yours for free.
Little HP gain, very little noise gain, almost hard to believe they are empty

The pipes have lots of little holes in them and make two u-turns inside the cans, which are packed with some kind of sound deadening material. Pics from an old thread:
