Engine Shampoo
I have done this on previous vehicles, but want to know if anybody has experience doing it on their C6. Any instructions or cautions, what to use, would be appreciated.

Shampoo? The engine compartment may be cleaned by wiping with a rag with a little detailer on it, or by spraying it with water, etc. If you use a spray cleaner solution and water, protect as many of the electrical connections as possible and be sure to wipe down/dry as completely as possible. When done, take it for a nice ride to dry places you can't reach. The car has many "ground", contact points you do not want to corrode.

I ruined an alternator spraying my Ford truck engine from non-direct spray so I no longer spray my engines. I use the damp towel after drying the car to wipe down the engine each time. It stays pretty clean that way.

Also, check your owner's manual. The manual for my 2007 C6 Coupe says not to spray water directly on the airbox and area near the air filter as it is not completely enclosed and protected from water. The manual goes on to state that spraying water directly into the air filter can damage the engine and this wouldn't be covered by the warranty.
