will need a brake pad change soon.... what do you guys recommend?
any experiences would help.... my main concern is performance.. my second is sqeeking noises... my third is pad resedue on the wheels .....
P.S.
the sooner you post , the easier i can avoid latching to that light post infront of me
Where are you from .. !? Your avatar gives me the hint that you're in one of the GCC states..!? I've got a machine silver C6 of my own... I'm receiving my Hawk HPS breakpads today..! Those are the ones I've been recommended by many fellow forum members due to their high perormance and low brake-dust residue..
Like many things there are always trade-offs with brake pads. Agressive pads offer good performance but lots of dust and squeaking, ceramics have many good points but don't offer as much stopping power, etc.
I would say for a good mix of all the things that you would like to have, stick with the OEM GM pads that come on the base & F55 cars. If price is important, check in with one of our forum vendors such as Fichtner, their service is always top notch, great pricing, no sales tax, and they don't screw you on shipping costs.

.. best of luck!
good ol' Kuwait...... well i guess i can live with the brake dust but not the noise, but is the stopping power worth it? coz you know more stopping power=more rotor wear= more expences.... the GM OEM pads are looking good right now!
Stopping power will be worth it if you're a highly aspirated driver or if you track the car..
If expences are an issue you shouldn't of gotten a Corvette..! *I know I'm gonna be flamed on this..!* Yes other high performance cars are more expensive to buy and maintain but I personally believe that if you're up for owning a Corvette, you should be up for pampering it too..!
I recently had a set of Hawk pads put on. I specified HPS because I stay on the street. There is a possibility they may have put HP Plus on by mistake. They now have about 2,000 miles on them and they squeal like you can't believe. My wife is sick and tired of hearing them, so I'm going to try rebedding them once more. If things don't improve, I'm gonna have to redo them all over again.
If they turn out to be the HPPlus, I'll go with the HPS, otherwise, I'm gonna have to do something else.
