rear end question
i have an 05 C6 A4. non Z-51. would like to have the 3.42 put in it. is this basically a ring gear and pinion swap out?....thx

Can be but if I were you I would just get a DTE rear end for swap out and be done with it.

It will also involve some adjustment to engine/trans control module. Like setting the new ratio and adjusting the shift points.

thanks for the info...just doing a little home work on it. was going to ask about the speedo adjustments etc. got that answer as well.

I seem to remember posts that said the 2.73 housing was only for 2.73 gears. If you wanted other gears you had to upgrade to the 3.15-3.42 housing.
