i ran 2.5" with stock lugs and 400 rwhp with no issue until i got my new wheels. they on my blazer now front and rear and we beat the hell out of that thing off roading....no issue. just tighten bolts to 90-100 ft lbs like they say to or you WILL lose lug nuts!!!

This guy is asking if he can place a .2" spacer on the same lugs which takes away from the ability to get enough threads on the lugs holding the wheel on. You must have used adapters if they were 2 1/2" (even though it was 4.75 lug pattern to the same lug pattern) he is asking about spacer.
Unless that was a typo and you used a .25 spacer. Please clarify. The lugs on the rear arent 2 1/2 inches long and therefore can use a spacer that thick.

How many threads does that lug nut grab on the stud?
If your drag racing I would suggest ARP hardened studs. That is what most of the road races run or with any spacer, plus open ended hardened lug nuts without caps on the lug nuts
