look behind the handle. there is a little ovel panel you pop out. behind it is a couple bolts. then look at the bottom corners. one will have a slot to start pulling/prying the paneloff. they are help on with green clips taht will make lots of noise coming off. pull straight out or you will break then and they are 5.00 each at dealer. may try pushing the panel b4 tearing into it. most rattles come from the clips backing out and pushing the panel back onto the door re sets them
thanks, don't know if up for it. My luck i will makw matters worse
It's really not bad. Putting them on is way tougher, but just take your time and expect it to take a few tries to get it right. Once you get one done you'll see how to do it and the next will be much easier.
In the Audio FAQ there's a thread with the part numbers for the grommets and the pins that hold the doors in place. You may want to consider picking up a set and change them out, in case the problem is a loose connector.
Check the stereo install thread linked in my sig. One of the sections details what you need to do to remove and re-install the panels.
I was having the same problem, mainly with stereo at high volume, very serious rattle, particulalry with windows down. I took the car ('05 Z51 'vert) to the dealer. The installed some some insulating mat'l & reistalled door panels. The driver's side was the problem, but the did both, nice! The kicker was they did it all under warrenty!!!
You may want to check w/ a local dealer or if you bought it new take it back. The dealer I used was Hall Chevrolet in Chesapeake VA. I did not buy the car there either. It's certainly worth a try. Good luck.
