Default Fob Problem Follow-up

Sorry about the 'CAPS LOCK' from yesterday ..... I'm an Auto Wrecker and I have one of my teletype systems on this computer, so I leave the caps lock on most of the time. Plus, I'm Italian and originally from Brooklyn, so I'm used to yelling al lot .....
The car in question is a 2007 C6 Z51 A6 Cpe ..... 7-mos old with 3700 miles ....... I did update my profile, by the way .....
Turns out the garage was the problem, not the car ! Got it to run this morning and pulled it out into the driveway, and now its fine. The garage-door opener is a very old unit, sitting directly above the car. There is also a electrical sub-panel 4 feet from the car in the garage wall. Not sure which one was the culprit, but it definitely was an interference problem, not a mechanical problem with the car.
Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, but a heads up in case your C6 starts actin' funny ......

Glad you figured it out. More than one instance of someone having the fob go squirrely and turns out that it is an interference problem. There is even a blurb in the manual about interference.

NO FOBS DETECTED: This message is displayed if
the vehicle does not detect the presence of a keyless
access transmitter when you have attempted to start the
vehicle or a vehicle door has just closed. The following
conditions may cause this message to appear:
• Driver-added equipment plugged into the accessory
power outlet on the center console is causing
interference. Examples of these devices are cell
phones and cell phone chargers, two-way radios,
power inverters, or similar items. Try moving the
keyless access transmitter away from these devices
when starting the vehicle. In addition, PDA devices
and remote garage and gate openers may also
generate Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) that
may interfere with the keyless access transmitter.
Do not carry the keyless access transmitter in the
same pocket or bag as these devices.
• The vehicle is experiencing Electromagnetic
Interference (EMI). Some locations, such as airports,
automatic toll booths, and some gas stations, have
EMI fields which may interfere with your keyless
access transmitter.
If moving the transmitter to different locations within
the vehicle does not help, place the transmitter in the
glove box transmitter pocket with the buttons facing
to the right and then press the START button.

Good catch, these electrical gremlins can drive you crazy. Good to see someone from Brooklyn, NYC is the greatest city in the world! My mother grew up in Brooklyn, however, she was never the same after the Dodgers left for LA.

might have to use the glove box slot for the fob from now on to start it. Funny, he probably started the car in this location before. Why would it act up now?
