Default Flowmaster/stock tips QUESTION

I installed the Flowmaster quad tip 17427 system on Sunday on my 07 MN6 Coupe and like the tone of the exhaust but feel it is a little too loud. I heard it may cut down the volume a little with the stock tips. Is this true? If so, is it possible to have the stock tips cut off and welded onto the Flowmaster mufflers? Thanks.

I had a set of Flowmasters I welded in my car and used the stock tips. It was loud enough to shake the trees. I doubt it will get better.

Were those the delta mufflers or the loud kind...I think they do make a difference which ones you had.

That's funny. I just installed the same exhaust on my new 07 MN6 Z51 VY Coupe and I thought they were too quiet. Of course I had Borla Stingers on my '02 Z06 for about 4 years so anything seems quiet compared to those. I loved the Borlas, but they were loud. These are tame. I wish they were slightly louder during acceleration. They are fine during cruising.

Delta. Sounded great, unless you were just crusing down the highway. The drone would rattle my migraines loose.

I have them too and I don't think there is any significant drone. My car is stock otherwise .

Nope! it's gonna be loud. Put an Xpipe on and it will send most of the noise out the rear not in the cab. Cuts down on drone inside. I hated it at first but I love it now. It took me a while to get use to the sound.

Thanks. I guess I will give it some time to see if it grows on me.
