Default Throttle Closing Slowly

I have posted this elsewhere, but not getting actual value answers. I have a 2007 MN6 C6. When I back off of the throttle to shift, There is a delay in the rpm drop. For instance, running in 3rd if I push in the clutch and let off of the throttle, it is a full 3 seconds before the rpm gets down to idle speed. A normal 3-4 shift causes a flare up in rpm during the shift. Has anyone else seen this with the 2007 manual models? Running a log, the actual COMMANDED throttle position is slow going to an idle, so I don't think there is a mechanical problem here.

Try some WD40 on the outside linkage points

The "throttle by wire" system is programmed to close the throttle slowly for emissions purposes.

Sudden throttle closure while in gear on manual transmission cars is a scenario associated with increased emissions. By slowing the throttle plate closure (i.e., not letting the throttle butterfly just 'snap' closed when the accelerator pedal is suddenly released), emissions are reduced.

(IIRC, Automatic transmissioned vehicles do not experience the phenomena to the same extent due to the torque converter 'unlinking' the engine/transmission, thus softening the effect of the sudden throttle closure)

Cheers,
Kent

Its not linkage. A tune can help reduce that drop but I can tell you its tough to get all the way out. I absolutely hate the "hanging idle" problem between shifts. Tunes definetly help. Mine was almost gone.

Default Hanging idle

I didnt notice the problem in my 05 until I had some cam work done. The tuner was able to get most of it out.
However I just bought a new Ram truck for work and it is the first year for throttle by wire. The hanging idle is real bad in it. I plan on asking if the dealer can work some of it out.
