Only bad time was your reaction time. Of course, it doesn't matter for your ET, so it's no big deal unless you are trying to beat the guy next to you. Concentrate on leaving when you see the last yellow light. If you wait for the green, you are too late. A good reaction time is around .050 or better. If you are doing it right, you should occasionally get a red light, which again, doesn't affect your ET.
Also, what were you leaving at as far as rpms? If you have good traction, you should be able to put your left foot on the brake, your right foot on the throttle, and bring the rpm's up to about 1200 rpm. At the last yellow, lift off the brake and push down hard on the throttle. This should yield you a 60 foot around 1.95. And every .1 you take off your 60 foot normally results in your ET coming down by .2 secs.
Again, great run, especially for your first time!!!!
Well this is the thing, my car was cooler when i ran my 12.79 even though i ran a 2.0 60'. The way the run started was that i launched @ 2000rpm, i spun a little but that it felt like a rocket out of there. When i ran the 1.9 60's i was launch around idle-1300rpm, but it felt slower.
I've never tried launching at 2000 rpm. Heck, I have trouble most of the time spinning at 1200 rpm and have to go back to idle launches. These darn cars don't run good hot because the computer starts pulling timing with inlet air temps above 86 degrees!
