Get some heat shrink tubing and put it over the top pins then shrink it to fit. I used .312 ID tubing that shrinks to .156. Works great and is cheap too.
I did this fix & was impressed for about a week, came back after a 4 hour session in direct sunlight. Lub'g seals with silicone grease helps but it seems to take a combination of the two to keep noise at bay.
i used to have the same problem as yours.what i always do now is before i drive my vette i always make sure i unlatch the the two latches on the winshield and lift the removable roof a little bit then lock the latches . make sure you do this before you move the car.see if this will help you
I had mine fixed at the dealer last week and pefectly quiet until last night it started making a popping noise about the driver side where your head is. Anyone else have this too? and it creaked twice today
take the top off, and use a couple coats of vasoline that worked on my c5 vette my c6 has not had that problem yet. the top creeks b/c the body of the car flexes. but the vasoline will get the job done
BACK FROM GETTING IT FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP, (REPLACED PLASTIC PIN INSERTS ). CAR IS QUIET NOW. WE WILL SEE HOW
LONG IT LASTS,. ONE NOTE, MINE HAD THE TAPE AROUND THE
INSERTS,? WHICH IS SUPPOSEDLY ONE OF THE FIXES ?!
