Question about oil temp

:bs i can guarantee if you have an automatic Z51 you don't have a oil cooler. gm lied in the pamphlet's and the sales people lied. only the Z51manuel has the cooler.:thumbs: :iagree: Not true. Water will be driven out at much lower temps, although more slowly. Heat a pan of water on the stove at say, 180 degrees. It cooks off, doesn't it? :iagree:

oil temp here recently driving to work 07 m6 approx 80 mph hitting 241+degrees 5th gear, outside temp approx 114.

Mine runs about 205-208, M-6 Z-51, at normal highway speeds in 85 degree temps. Have never seen it higher than 216 even at very spirited driving speeds. 220s is not a problem at all. I would guess that staying under 240-245 is fine with synthetic oil.
