I bought my new AO C6 about 5-6 weeks ago. When I went to look at it/test drive it, it had to be jumped. Dealer claimed that since the vettes aren't started and ran routinely and the car had been there for several months, that it just needed a jump. Jumped the car and it started right up. I bought the car and all was well..or so I thought.
I have only put 180 miles on the car in 6 weeks. Yes I know that is terrible, but I have been swamped at work and just haven't gotten a chance to drive her. Bottom line is that twice over the last several weeks since I have owned her, I have had to jump the car to get her started. This is pretty ridiculous that my 50k car is less reliable than the 12k Hyundai I use as my dd.
I have no problem taking it to the dealer as I suspect that it is just a bad battery and I know they will replace it, but is there anything I should check first? Anything that might be causing it? I already checked and made sure that the dome lights are not on.
You should not be having battery problems with a new Corvette. Take it to the dealer and get a new one and they will check the car for other problems. I'm sure you just have a bad battery. Good luck.
If the battery was discharged enough that it needed to be jumped when you test drove it, the battery is most likely sulfated from sitting in a stage of discharge.
We are having the same problem with our 07 AO convertible. The dealer replaced the battery twice. But on Friday, it would not start. Dealer took it in on a flatbed. They say they think it's a faulty part in the door mechanism, plus they have tried reprogramming the computer. But now, something crashed during reprogramming, and the dealer can't even get into the car. This is frustrating. I hope yours is just the battery.

Have the same problem with my 05. They were known for DBS more than 06's and 07's. Anyways I'm sure they will eventually get to a flash that will help with the problem. I bought a CTEK charger and keep my battery trickle charged. It's that or DBS. Driving the car as little as you do/did probably contributed to the problem. Good luck
