Daytime running lights disabling
C6 Turning the DRLs off permanently
Have read all the threads on this so I decided to do it properly, but it will take a bit of work for anyone doing it.
First I designed a piece of hardware to deal with the Logic of it, built it tried it with a small test rig ,fine, then fitted it to the car, properly of course(it looks like original equipment). Been in use for 13 months and 7500 miles absolutely no problems. I put a small switch on the unit so as to be able to return to normal use. For non road use such as shows etc. I switch them back on then return them to off for road use, having them on is frowned on here in the UK but not illegal.
As I don't know how to include images/circuit in this post I can send them by email if you mail me Peter Billinton at revtex@enterprise.net.
C6 all Victory Red ,Cashmere interior,Auto, Z51 etc.Had it from new Sep.2005 I'm still smiling even after testing 911 (997).350z,Fer.360.

The safety is subject of a lot of reports both for and against.....but I would venture it does make you more visable during the day.....but if the idiot is going to pull out in front of you he's going to do it if you have lights or not.....look at motorcycles.....

How does anyone not like DRLs? You can't even see yours from the driver's seat. Does it also bother you that your brake lights come on every time you hit the brakes?
Ever ride a motorcycle with the headlight off? People pull out in front of you all the time.

I usually keep my low beams on while Im driving but I dont like the orange lights on all the time too so I just disabled them by bending back two of the tabs on the running light/turn signal bulbs. Now I have turn signals but no DRLs
Red-out on the corners too, yeah I HATE orange anything on black!

I like DRLs normally for safety, but I believe they just help the LEOs target you more easily if you're doing something illegal... Of course, I always drive the speed limit.
