Are there any cold air intakes that does not damage the MAF with good performance numbers for a 2007 C6?
Thanks
Honker, Xcelerator, Vararam, LPE, just to name a few. I have never heard of a CAI that damaged the MAF. However, if any cotton gauze filters are over oiled they can damage the MAF.
I don't know of anyone personally but the dealers say they see it all the time not only on corvettes but other vehicles.
I find that hard to believe. You basically just attach a neoprene 'hose' to the front of the MAF--don't actually do anything with the MAF on most CAIs. Some you may have to take off, but unless you drive over it with your Dodge Ram, I can't see how you would damage one.
They are probably referencing some issues in the past with people who have put too much oil on the reuseable air filter elements that nearly all CAI's feature. There were some instances where excessive oil from the filter got on the MAF wires and caused poor drivability issues.
This is really not a concern. As long as you install your CAI properly and oil the air filter as directed you will never have a MAF issue "caused" by a CAI.

Makes sense. I talked to K&N before I reoiled the one, at 15K, on my T/A. They said make sure you lightly remove any white that is showing, but that's all. Less is better. Never had a problem.
