Default Wow,its happening!!

I finally got 5000 miles on the odometer and it seems like the car got another 20 horses in it.Do any of you owners of 06 6 speeds notice how loud the intake is on accelaration. My intake seems excessive.I don't know if this is normal or not.It sounds like my 99 with the Black Wing.its stock,no mods of any kind.

The K&N is quieter than stock, supposedly (per them) because it smoothes the airflow. I don't know...but LSX engines have always taken a while to loosen up/break in. When I hit 5K in my LS1 Trans Am the difference was really incredible. I expect the same in the LS2. Not there yet, but looking forward to it.

It really does gain power after you put some miles on it (seems 5k is the mark). It's pretty noticable IMO, and I seem to have track numbers to back it up.

My best run the fall of last year was a 12.92 at 112 (bone stock), my best run this spring (about 5k on the clock, still bone stock) was 12.69 at 114. My 60 ft times were almost identical..I'm sure my driving has improved a little which could be a little of it, but IMO a piece was definitely from the motor more broken in.

I noticed the same thing on my C5 (as did almost everyone else). I can't help but wonder if it's actually programmed to hold back a little until a certain number of hours of operation (or more likely - a certain number of revolutions of the crank).

Hmm..thats interesting. I never really thought of it, but your probably right. I wonder if anyone can actually confirm if that's true or not. Unfortunately, it's probably another "does TM exist" type mystery..

I've got 14k on the clock and mine continues to feel stronger all the time. Of course a few mods along the way never hurts.
