Just completed the SMC roof replacement process after the roof of our 2006 C6 coupe totally delaminated.
The separation apparently happened while the car was parked in our garage and fortunately we noticed it before leaving home for a drive.
Gave local dealer the delaminated roof (not the car) about a week ago and picked up the replacement roof (in my pickup) late yesterday.
Color match (Victory Red) of the replacement roof is reasonably good but the front of the roof is noticeably (1/4" or more) below the windshield moulding when the roof latches are engaged.
The latches appear to be retained with a #40 torx screw and the edge of a "claw-type" washer is visible (from inside the car) between the latch and the roof when the latch is disengaged.
Does GM have purpose-specific shims to insert above / beneath the "claw-type" washer for adjusting the roof's leading edge height or can proper alignment be achieved by my adding a thick washer or making / adding a shim?
My preference is to correct this myself if the fix is no more complex than adding a shim / spacer (am willing to purchase the shim(s) if GM makes them available).
I am concerned that failure to rectify the situation is placing undue stress on the panel of the SMC roof and could result in a second delamination.
I adjusted my roof per the sticky...It looked great, but raising the roof to align it resulted in an air leak at highway speeds. I readjusted it to the original position to eliminate the wind noise.

I was just about to start adjusting for the poor fit of my new SMC roof, then I found this post. My clear roof panel fits fine now, I sure dont want to mess that up. Evidently, my problem is in the widow indexing and not the roof fit. Guess I'll check for those bunged-up bolts!
Prefer not to bend the headliner to reach the adjusting bolts so need to remove the headliner and visors per the sticky.
Got the visor-end clips off by removing their #15 torx retaining screw but am unsure how to remove the visors.
Any assistance is appreciated.
I watched my dealer adjust the roof after my new roof came in and they removed the visor clips but did not remove the visors. The tech noted that removing the visors usually causes damage to the visors and he really did not want to risk it if not needed. The adjustment came out just fine without having to remove the visors. He was just very careful not to bend the liner down more than needed to gain access to the bolts on the roof anchors.
