Default LG vs Kooks vs AR

Ok, I have read lots of posts on how people like all of these, but are there specific installation or performance issues that makes one better than the other. I am looking to buy now, but want to make sure I buy the right ones!

It's all about personal preference and who has the best deal. No such thing as one being better than another.

There is little difference. They key is the installer.

I'll be doing them myself so that shouldn't be an issue. I am leaning towards the LGs as they are made by Borla and I really have always liked Borla's products.

I have the Borlas, (LG Pros) and have been very happy with them. I had KOOKS on my C5 and was very happy with those as well.

However you can't go wrong with either of the ones you listed

Melrose have some of the best fitting best performing long tubes on the market and there mid section with highflow cats are made by random tech.
All there headers come ceramic coated.
4 vette and 4 set of Melrose headers.

I found the best deal on the AR so that is what I got. If I knew they were all the same price and had to do t over again, I would still go with AR.

My dealer tech who installed them said they fit like a glove.

I highly recommend them.

When you get ready to purchase question the manufacturer or retailer closely on what is included. Some don't have the needed instuctions, bolts, gaskets, brackets, O2 extentions and etc.

I purchased the Dynotech Supermaxx from Tbyrne and am very happy with the purchase. Everything was in one box drop shipped quickly to my house with very good step by step instuctions w/pictures. The only thing I had to supply other than tools and time was antiseize for the header bolts.

I have installed and tested them all, and I can tell you on my chassis dyno there isn't much difference that can be directly traced to one header or the other. By that I mean that the temperature and humidity difference of the day would have more effect on overall power than the brands of headers.

LGs are the most expensive of the group, all as far as I am concerned are of excellent quality. If you want a great deal on headers that are coated then the Melrose are the way to go. Americans and Kooks are excellent as well. I would recommend any of them!

Thanks for all of the great responses guys. I appreciate it. I think I am leaning more towards the Kooks based on pricing and availability.
Cheers

Someone correct me if I am wrong but from what I read about the 2 brands the LG's supposedly give more mid range HP and Tourque and the Kooks are more mid to upper range HP and Torque. But both are good choices in headers.

I am going to go with the LG's because they are made by borla and I am getting the borla stingers. I like borla products.

I was in toro1966's boat until a month ago. Shop recommended KOOKS as better fitting. They are also less expensive. I doubt that there is more than 3-4 RHWP between ANY after market header available for our cars.

I would be curious to find out which ones have the best road clearance. I have LG's and they hang down past everything else on the car. I actually dinged mine rolling very slow over a speed bump. BTW, the installation is a piece of cake.

Interesting. How could they hang down below everything else and still hook up tot he rest of the exhaust? Since these are the ones I just ordered I am curious.
