Default Rattling on Cold Start

I have an 07 C6 with 3700 miles. I have noticed twice now on a cold start(after sitting for a couple of days) a "rattling" noise. It almost sounds like the engine is running without oil for a few seconds. The noise goes away after a few seconds of idling. The oil has 2500 miles on it and checks full. Anybody else noticed this or have this problem?

maybe it's the rockers/springs getting lubed back up in the heads?

I was thinking it might be a lifter but I didn't think they would bleed down that fast.

Most likely it's the pistons themselves. I think they are hypereutectic, which can make noise until they heat up and expand. Do a google search with "piston slap" and "ls2" you'll get more info as it's been around for awhile.

A lot of them do it. It is probably some lifters pumping up after they have bled down. I have an 05 with 9K miles and it sometimes does it. Don't be concerned about it.

Thanks, I read a few articles on it and it doesn't seem to hurt the engine long term. Anyway, thats what a warranty is for!
