Does it buzz when the car is running only? I posted about this a while ago and did not get any replies. Mine is a very low constant buzzing like an electrical transformer or something. It is not very loud, but I can hear it with the windows up and the radio off. I cannot pinpoint it, but it sounds like the start button or the instrument cluster.
Thanks for the response....I can hear the buzzing with motor off, ignition on. Sounds like you described....transformer or relay right behind ignition switch. Can only hear it with radio off, windows up etc.
Would still like to know what it is.
I do not plan on taking to dealer for this.
I may pull the panel in front of the ignition switch and see if I hear anything there.
I haven't gotten any replies on my post as of today. When I turn my car off (engine) the buzzing stops. I am going to mention it when I take it in for the first oil change, but I won't make a special trip just for the buzzing. I agree with you, I would like to know what it is. Little noises like this drive me crazy if I don't know what it is. Keep me posted if you find anything new.
right to the left of the start button there is a vent which allows air to be sucked in for the air conditioning. Behind the little slits in the dash there is a little fan which helps push air back up to the ac. I found this out because I was having the buzzing sound myself and located it to this area. I ended up sticking a piece of paper in one of the slits and jammed the fan and the buzzing stopped. There is probably a separation in the fan unit causing the buzz, which was my problem. Just take it to the dealership and they'll swap the part.
