The other three C6 Z06's I saw, went mid 11's around 125-126 trap speed. It is a sweet 1/4 mile car.
The Ls3 will take the 08'C6 to about the same 1/4 mile times as the C5Z06 and that's it. You'll see. 12.4 will be the average for all the car mags. With only about $1000 worth of MODs, the C6Z is running about 540hp at the flywheel. Check out my SIGNATURE below, my 05'C6 Cartek equipped 458RWHP feels DOGGY compared to my slightly modded Z.

Isn't it up for debate which will stand up to boost better? I read that somewhere, who knows if it's true.

Let me rephrase then:

What numbers are the hottest Normally aspirated LS7's putting down... as forged blown cars really don't count in my mind.

Do you mean to say a cam and headers causes a 40k lifespan?

Unless the mod of course is to get a 441 stroker with forged pistons which still costs less than a Z06 with cast pistons.

The point you are missing is that the LS3, with head and cam package will match the C6-Z or better it for around 6,000 grand, huge savings, and with a nice 4.10 and tune set up for another $2,300, would smoke the Z..yes we all know all the extra goodies the Z comes with, but in terms of power for an extra $8,300 the LS3 is a bargain performer.

The 08 z, will have the same Hp dyno numbers, as the previous C6 Z's, since factory claimed hp is the same (505 crank hp). Why would you think otherwise? The LS3 was not rated at 400, more like 436.

Including 100K warranty on a 15K motor, gotta mean something.

If all you care about is straight line performance, it is so much cheaper to start with a mustang.

For the cost of a LS3 vette and upgrades, you could probably own two or three honda civics that would smoke the Z06 and the upgraded LS3. I guess anyone buying a LS3 wasted their money

Another misinterpretation by a misguided missle. Are you serious? You comparing the state of the ART LS3 VETTE with a HONDA? , Listen nOOb, if you going to make a statement in the CF, at the very least make sure you own a VETTE. On second thought, the LS3 or the LS2 motors with the Z-51 package are straight line performers? How about the Z-06 at Nurburgring at 7:43 one of the fastest performers..Let me guess the honda was right behind it..LMAO..Get your facts straight nOOB.

Give me some of that chit you smokin..

Jeez, guys... chill...

I think all we're saying is that the LS3 is worth modding for more power. If you can afford an LS7, great... if not, nothing wrong with modding the LS2/3 for a bit more power. It is definitely "worth it" for some.

I don't think anyone is saying it's "better" to start with a normal C6 and try to mod it past a Z06. Or start with a C6 and mod it to be a "cheap" 10 second car.
