Listen nOOb, if you going to make a statement in the CF, at the very least make sure you own a VETTE. On second thought, the LS3 or the LS2 motors with the Z-51 package are straight line performers? How about the Z-06 at Nurburgring at 7:43 one of the fastest performers..Let me guess the honda was right behind it..LMAO..Get your facts straight nOOB.
Give me some of that chit you smokin..
Look at those little "Member Since" dates on the left before calling someone a "nOOb".
You might learn something.
If you'd like to lay out some $$ on whether I own a vette or not, I'll take your money. All of it.
Perzactly. jmc5 dude brings the Mustang, Honda theory in the equation.. To think, I turned down a great party in Long Island for this? Lmao, Long day at work today..
Oh baloney. You started in on the classic "this car is faster for cheaper" hogwash, and I called you on it. Don't like living in a glass house? Then don't throw stones.

Hogwash is right as you stated, glass house? How dramatic do you have to get to be in the same class as a C6? If you own a Vette then hats off to you, but your comment on the Honda beating on the Z-06 is way off. I have never seen one, and even if It did, that's one in 10,000, which would make that honda extremely unreliable..And to compare the two (Honda and Z-06) makes me wonder if you are smoking some of that good chit..And to call me out lastly..Well, I think you can beat me.. :roll eyes:

keep in mind you can make 485 on the z06 with cai and tune only. add a ported intake and t/b and you're knocking on 500 with easily reversable mods and 100% stock manners and exhaust
Has anyone put a stock 2008 Z06 on a dyno yet?
With the fantastic numbers from the LS3, I'm thinking, "what about the Z06?"

Provided nothing comes up, I expect to dyno my bone stock '08 Z06 tomorrow on my Dynojet 224xLC. At that time, I'll also custom dyno tune it. I'll report before/after for everyone, along with dyno graphs and datalogs.
It is VERY HOT right now here on the Gulf Coast, so I do not expect anything out of the ordinary. See here:
The 08 z, will have the same Hp dyno numbers, as the previous C6 Z's, since factory claimed hp is the same (505 crank hp). Why would you think otherwise?
Is this gonna be the average z06 owner reply from now on? You guys remind me a lot of the 911 fans...
But its the truth. You cant deny that. When you think about a ZO6, you dont just think about the motor and its 505hp, you also think about the carbon fiber fenders, aluminum frame, magnesium roof support and engine craddle, the larger brakes, bigger wheels and tires, and on and on....
The old C5 had 350 HP and the old C5Z had 405. That's a 55 HP difference, and yet the C5Z outperformed the C5 without question. When it came to mods, the C5Z was still very difficult for a C5 to catch. As a matter of fact, the C6 hasn't caught the C5Z yet! Maybe the LS3 will...remains to be seen!
There IS more to the Z than just the HP. The wieght, the suspension, the tires...those 3 alone offer an amazing advantage of the reg. C5. 430 HP vs 505 HP...we are looking at a 75 HP difference, plus numerous other advantages the Z has. I didn't mention the brakes either.
Of course you can mod the C6 to be faster than the C6Z. Depends on what you want. If you want straight line speed and road course ability...another words, the whole package...you may find yourself spending an amount of money very close to the C6Z.
I love all Corvettes We needa group hug up in here!!

The base '05-'07 C6 has 50 more horsepower than the base C5 and the difference is very significant.
The C6 Z06 has 69-75 more horsepower than the base '08 C6. An even bigger horsepower difference than there was between the base C5and the C5 Z, 55, and the base C5 and the base C6, 50. While not the 105 horsepower advantage once enjoyed over the base car, its still a big difference.

And as you mention, you are talking about a 75 horsepower advantage in a car which is lighter. 3132 for a Z06 vs 3217 for an '08 coupe and 3246 for an '08 convertible.
