Default Just back from the dyno

Hi guys I just got back from redline performance here in Ontario Canada and I had my 05 c6 a4 with 1 7/8 ar headers hf cats and x pipe,160 stat,vararam,373 gears,3200 vigalante converter. It made 360hp and 360 lbs tq and the dyno was a dynojet. What do you guys think about these numbers.I was told that I loose power on the dyno because of the gears.

Why'd You go with 373 gears instead of 3.15's?

ps,.........I love Canada!

I think these are probably good numbers considering the gears and converter you have. But the only way to really know how well the mods worked would have been to do a baseline run.

We tried to get a baseline but the shift points were off and we hit the rev limiter. The tuner said it was close to 340hp.I was going to put 342 gears but the tuner talked me into 373 gears and im happy I did lots of fun .

I would think the gears and tq convertor may be giving up some measured hp.
But they probably make the car faster in Real Life Driving.

I just dyno'd my bone stock 05 mz6 and got 357 HP, 356 Tq on a DynoJet. No mods yet at all.

Let us know how it does in the 1/4. That will be the true test of the mods and how much you really gained.

You probably have a manual not an auto. That would explain it. However, don't let his 20 less hp fool you. That car will be a rocket at the drag strip, especially with the converter. DennisNJ is running in the 11's with a very similar setup and only 360 to the rear wheels.

There is a little drone at 1600 rpm but I have magnaflow mufflers 14336 that were added to the stock axleback. But im thinking of trying the stock mufflers again. So if any one in Ontario,Canada has a c6 over axle with stock mufflers I might be intrested in them im sure there are tons of them out there.Email me if you have a pair.thanks Gary

I have an automatic - the A4. In the quarter, he is prob quicker due to the converter and gears. I just recently ran a 12.2 @116.7. Cutting 1.9 60fts in mid 90 degree texas heat.

Ponchorello.thats why dyno numbers really mean nothing.
if you check the 1/4 mile performance thread. you will see i went 12.38 without dyno tune or headers. and with tune headers stock converter stock tires vr 160 stat corsa sports and high flow cats. no cats you had an advantage. fully loaded i weigh 265 hot day i went 12.062 at 116.72 and later on went 12.020 at 117 and went 11.98 with the converter with stock run flats could have went faster but decided to by drags instead of new runflats i think their was 16000 miles on them. now in the n.j. heat high humidity low bp 11.62 consistently cant wait till fall. get your 60 ft down

Outstanding!! You have to be the highest bolt-on auto I've seen. I put down 360 with an A6 and bolt-ons. My best is only a 12.52, but with over 3000 foot DA.

Those are great times for a hot humid day, even at sea level! You get a nice cold day this coming winter and you will be in the 11's!
