If that's the case $12.5K is a pretty good deal to get you to 700 HP or something around 595 RWHP. I also see this price assumes you have Stage I completed. I expect I have all that covered in my first mod?

Not something I would do right away since I just modded my Vette, but something to consider in the future! Pretty interesting mod!
I read that to mean that it was for LS7 applications, and that it was $20k for the work, and an additional $7.5k if you weren't supplying your own LS7 core. I could be wrong - I'm sure they will clarify. If I'm correct, you would want to inquire about the cost of the LS2 application, which I read uses a LS6 block.

That is the way I read it also. But the block used for the LS2 is a LS2 block with darton wet sleeves. I expect there will be a core for that one as well but should be less than 7500.00 I would expect.

I would think the new LS3 would be cost prohibitive versus the LS2.

I think they are still testing the ls2 454. If GM reduces the price on the LS3 they may move in that direction. Keep in mind that many parts must be machined specifically for these engines. It gets down to what you can do for the least amount of expense. Power is nice but you have to be able to justify the expense. Keeping in mind this is a rather small market. Lost of people talk but much fewer actually will "pull the trigger".

462 RWHP with 4.10's and then I added a 100 shot of NOS. Even without the nitrous it breaks loose in 3rd with 345 Michelin PS 2's.

Man, this may be the most neglected thread by a OP that I have ever seen... I know that MTI is a serious outfit, but to post a thread that heralds "A new era in Corvette performance has begun", and then just blow it off seems pretty lame. Most of this thread is made up of legitimate questions that have been left unanswered.

So, how about it Seth? Where are you at on the LS-2 based 454 project? What can you tell us about the nature of this beast?

Default 454 Update

Sorry guys for the massive lack of info.

The 454 projects are coming along fantastic.

We have been doing testing and evaluation on both the LS2 and the LS7 versions.

In fact so good that both cars running the first test mule engines posted their fastest lap times at Road Atlanta this past weekend as many who were there can attest.

The LS7 454 was in our 2006 Z06 Test Vehicle.

The LS2 454 was in our C5 World Challenge Corvette that had to have the dust blown off because the car has not seen regular action since 2001. Now it has been relelgated to test vehicle.

I will post dyno graphs as soon as we recheck the cars from the weekend.

Man, I wish I could take more people for rides because there are no words for how these engines accelerate down the back straight at Road Atl.

Once agian, sorry for the lack of follow up posts but I firmly believe in testing before release to the public.

I will also get back with more details and specs for both configurations.

Thanks for the HUGE interest and all the phone calls.

First post said developed not developing. It wouldnt hurt to give some specs on the set-up seeing as it was used in a C5 race vehicle. I dont need to see a dyno sheet to hear about the build parameters.

Default Dyno Graph

Here is a dyno graph of our LS7 454 from our C6Z06 Test Vehicle.

I put the numbers up in SAE because most Forum guys go balistic when we post standard.

We do so because we have been testing that way for years and all our data is referenced off of Standard correction.

We do not however, cheat up our numbers like some others so we find that our Standard correction numbers are in line with others SAE.

For example, A 2007 Z06 will baseline about 435 rwhp on our dyno in Standard. That is what other shops typically get in SAE correction.

With our usual Standard correction, the MTI Racing 454 dynoed at 654 rwhp and 596 rwtq.

The significance is that it is the fisrt NORMALLY aspirated engine to ever break 650 rwhp.

If you assume 15 percent drivetrain loss that is 750HP at the flywheel.

OBTW, the car got 23 mpg on the way back from Road Atl. with our close ratio transmission and 3.90 axle.

More specs and detailed info to follow.

That looks awesome! I'm dying to see the results on the LS2 based 454.
How the heck do you get to 454 from the LS2. Mostly stroke?
