I really want to install headers on my 2007 mn6. I have Corsa sports with an xpipe and a Vararam. The corsa's are too quiet for my taste. My fault, no excuses. I use the car as a daily driver and I don't race. I have not particularly enjoyed the Corsa sound (or lake thereof) at idle and WOT. I will say though at cruise it is quiet and that is fine by me. I was hoping a set of headers with xpipe would wake these corsa's up. My main concern is the warranty. I purchased my vette from an out of state forum vendor, so that will not help my cause here in Denver. Are your headers worth the potential warranty problems??
thanks
I just put headers on my 07 MN6. I have 351 miles on it. It isn't that I am rich or that I don't care about the warranty (trust me - I care!) but they sound great and it really is dealer dependent. Some dealers care, others do not. My particular dealer doesn't mind them and will not void the warranty because of them. You might want to ask your dealer first. Some are mod friendly and will have no issues with it.
I took my 03 Z06 back to the dealer for a clutch replacement under warranty with vararam, kooks headers, Borla Stingers, and tune. Since they had to unbolt the headers to do the clutch they charged me labor for that, but they never questioned my warranty
With all of my mods including blower...my servicing dealer hs no problem with warranty work. It certainly doesn't hurt to have good dealer-customer relationship. I've been dealing with my service manager for 15 years.

Good luck!
Based on what you said I called the service manager at the dealership north of here that specializes in corvettes. He was not concerned about warranty work if you had headers. Fair enough. He even gave me a price for the install. I am going to start a new post asking about how difficult it would be for me to intall these myself.
Great sound clip on the headers and corsa sports. thanks
I agree it often depends on the dealership. The dealership where I've done business for 20 years will not even go-along with headers.
FWIW....I have a whole different engine in the car but with my LGM long tube headers and Corsa Sports...it sounds great...really great! Who needs music when you can listen to your car sounding that good.
I think the headers will 'wake-up' your Corsa exhaust considerably.

I don't know if you read the referenced thread of/about dsp300. You should.
Also, there are some very good responses here on your thread.
One suggestion you may not have taken into consideration: GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS. It doesn't just come FROM the dealership to you. It is a 2 way street. Recall: "15 year relationship" saplumr
As noted by Talon90 on that other thread, you are walking a fine line by altering your drive/powertrain regarding any warranty work attributable to this mod. No matter WHAT the dealer "says" now, it is completely up to them to challenge you should something occur and you need "warranty work".
Unless there is some exorbitant charge for dealer installation, you may want to reconsider who does the installation. And chalk it up to getting/keeping the dealer on your side for the future.

Good advice.
And, like you said, there are no guarantees that the dealers word will be honored. A serious claim may even be denied by someone higher up the food chain than the dealer. But...Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
