My 06 Z51 mn recently threw this throttle position sensor error-I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this error code. The error was associated with a sudden decrease in power that occured about 5000rpm
It's stock--have a Vortech supercharger (about 4500 miles on the sc). I experienced the loss of power on two diffierent occasions, the last two times I have driven the car. Took it to the dealer to get codes and the P0121 came up--diagnostic said, in one place, that if the throttle sensor and MAP are out of predicted ranged for 4 seconds it will stop the engine. I'm trying to find the cause.
Rather than going to the dealer I might suggest you seek out your tuner and have him take a look at your program. I've not looked at the tuning on a supercharged C6 yet, but in some of the older platforms there were airflow tables that, if exceeded, caused codes to come up. With a supercharger you are obviously flowing a lot more air than stock. If there is a table like that on your program you might be just at the limit of where it needs some values increased. An alternative is to turn the P0121 off, but it looks like it takes the p101 and the p106 with it if you lower or raise the thresholds to temperatures outside of your driving range.
With your problem occuring at 5000rpm you should have been well into some good boost and that makes me think this could be an issue. If it is... it is a simple fix

On a side note.. no issues with P0068?
Anyway... some food for thought.
I'm not very tech saavy on this, but I've got a copy of the code P0121check (as supplied to me by my dealer) and in the description of P0121 it also gives P0068 and describes that under certain conditions the control module commangs the engine OFF.
Instead of deleting the code, you can just set the test enable/disable temps so that it won't occur. You can either max them out, Min ECT 492/Max ECT 493, or set them to a very small window Min ECT 140/Max ECT 141. Either one is a quick fix.
Just to update anyone interested on the solution to the P0121 code. Took the car to Doug at Doug Rippie Motorsports and he spend about ten minutes with the programmer and problem is gone. Thanks to Straightline Tuners for his help on this matter also.
