Default Roll bars for Drivers Edge events

What kind of roll protection is necessary for convertibles participating in Drivers Edge events? I would like something that is complimentary to the looks of the car rather than a purpose built cage.

Purpose built. Needs to be at least 2" above your helmet and go from side to side. No little hoops

Check their wed site and email their technical ppl for specifics.

Shoot - I really don't want to hack my car up for a few trips to the track a year. Any recommendations for sources of roll bar manufacturers?

I think you would probably have to go through the rear deck cover for the soft top. Or remove it all together if a bolt on.

Logistically it seems like a nightmare. From an old vert buy, it is a real problem. They should just have us sign a relaease so if we die out there, or get hurt, we are releasing them from liability.

It wasn't too long ago that Indy cars were topless.. (well, a few years ago...)

You do that too.

For the most part it is the track and event orgainsers insrurance company that sets this policy.

Contact Aaron Pfadt and see what he has.

Problem is that all of the host clubs or track associations require rollbars for open cars that have both front & rear bracing and 2" height above helmet....makes it impossible to add a rollbar for occasional track events. One alternative that several groups allow is a removable hardtop. Couple of vendors have started to sell them for the C6s....should be on display at Carlisle this year if you can get there. Otherwise, do "removable hardtop" search.
