Default NPP Exhaust

Does anyone have any pictures of the NPP exhaust. I like the looks of the borlas but I also like the idea of having the factory exhaust on when I get it, tuned and ready to go. I''m not sure what the tips look like or how the pipes look on the vehicle. Anyone help me out.

Well I think Wes at Reliable told me it was $1195.00 but he gave it to me for $990.00. Sounded good to me. After market is about 12-1,300.00 and then unless your a wrencher and I'm not you have to pay to get them put on. The NPP are tuned to the car when it's built. I hear they have a switch as well called wild 2 mild where you can control the sound automatically. It's perfect for me because sometimes I''m wild and then sometimes I just want to be mild. Know what I mean.

I still think the exhaust looks cheap with its perforated tips and the clumsy flapper mechanism. Vacuum operated accessories went out with windshield wipers and power brake boosters.

So I take it you don't care for the NPP exhaust, don't hold back on your thoughts, I can take the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, or you can just shoot me in the head to make me feel better now that I have ordered the pipes. Somebody save me here, does anyone like them?

Many people like them and they are a hot option to order. Will also add nicely to resale value.

I'll bet 70 Chevelle SS owners are still glad they ordered vacuum operated cowl induction flap.

Nothing wrong with vacuum operation. Free power, no load to the elec system, ties operation directly to engine load just like the cowl induction.

That would have been the ultimate - a cowl induction hood with flapper and the NPP exhaust. Open up the intake and exhaust under high load.

To each his own. I'll bet there are some negative opinions about flame jobs also.

I thought the NPP was included in the Z51 package for 1700 or whatever it costs?? is it possible to get NPP without z51, or z51 w/o NPP?

not included in a package, it's a stand alone option. I don't see that it requires any other option or package, just a free flow $1195 option.

NPP is loud when the baffles are open at wide-open-throttle. In that situation loud is good; and the extra power is nice too. It's loud-on-demand.

If you have occasion to drive with a woman or child in the passenger seat, NPP is quiet at partial throttle, so conversation in the cabin is possible.

Throwing on an aftermarket exhaust that's loud at cruising speed sux, unless you travel with a woman you'd rather not hear.

your killing me here. Does anyone have any pics of the backend of a vette with the NPP exhaust. I mean how big do you need the tips, I don't want four chimneys coming out the backend, just some nice end pipes. Can you get different tips for the NPP exhaust or will that screw up the butterfly flaps? I know what this is about, you guys that don't like the NPP exhaust don't have any, and you really want some but can't get them so your bashing them, right? O.K. now I feel better.

Yes, you can get a 430hp Z51. I agree they should make it standard with the Z51 package. Charge more if necessary but make it part of the package.

Really want them?

I've got four 4" Borla's sticking out the back. My neighbor has the wimpy butterfly exhaust on his silent '07 Z06. the Borla's look much better, and sound so much better.

Here is a reasonable approximation of a C6Z06 at WOT thru the NPP exhaust: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_h9hKdDIQQ

And the sound captured from inside the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y-Fq306rzI

Bottomline: it's loud inside and outside the car.

You can have the Borla drone too, because it sucks. I wouldn't have borlas on my car. NPP is the best of both worlds.

I have had my 08 on order for six weeks. I did my homework and determined that the NPP was inferior in quality and function to the AM systems available...and at the same approximate price. I can understand buying them if I had the Z06 wannabe syndrome but I don't. Next time, do your homework.

IMO, The Borlas sound better than a stock Z06. I was trailing behind a Z06 and it was pretty quiet and when he stepped on it, it had a little umph but not the roar my Stingers give me.
