Default Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch

I've the problem with the non working trunk release button. I read the FAQ from Pipedreams about these topic. I checked the harness and found out that the switch was stuck in. Now I want to remove that thing to clean it up. But I don't know how to remove the switch. Pipedreams says there are two clips to press and the switch drops down. But where are these clips?

They are usually part of the switch. I have not read Pipedreams FAQ but I would guess you have to remove a taillight, reach in, find the switch and squeeze the two clips which are part of the switch and at the same time push the switch down and out of it's hole. You may also be able to access the switch by going in on the top of the license plate opening.

If you have hands like a woman you are right but with mine....I don't think so.

I removed the taillight and unplugged the harness but I couldn't find any clip to drop down the whole (unplugged) switch.

If memory serves when I fixed mine, once you remove the wiring connector, simply feel around the housing and squeeze two expanding tabs to release the switch from the bumper cover. I don't remember any clips holding it in.
