....if the wrong valve springs were installed? I just found out my car had the wrong valve springs installed and could be the reason behind my rocker bearing failure.

What other problems could this have caused???? Trying to educate myself before i talk to the tuner tomorrow.

The "wrong" valve spring could mean so many things. It could mean that they go into coil bind before full lift of the cam and this could cause all kinds of problem, the very least a bunch of broken springs and bent push rods. With broken springs you end up with broken valves and if you don't catch it in time the valve can break off, go through the piston top and through the cylinder wall.

Wrong valve springs could also mean insufficient seat pressure which could result in valve float at high rpms resulting in valves hitting the piston tops, breaking, going through the piston head and through the cylinder wall.

As you can see, there are some terrible things that can happen with the worst being a completely destroyed engine.

As far as rockers are concerned, the bound coil scenario would put the rocker into a very high load and that could result in broken rockers or failed needle bearings. I'm assuming your car is no longer running, but if it still runs, don't start it.

Car was on a flat bed back to the shop as soon as I heard all the chatter. Crossing fingers hoping for the best.

Glenn has laid out some possibilities....I just hope you're talking to a different tuner than the one that installed the wrong valve springs in the first place.

I'm not trying to add insult to injury but always deal with a first rate tuner shop. I'm sure there are many but for my money there are only a handful of shops in the Country I would trust my car to.

Geez how does a tuner not know what valve springs to install? Just out of curiosity. Unless, he ordered the right part number and was sent the wrong ones. At any rate kind of hard to believe that the tuner didn't know the difference. Anyhow good luck.
