My theory is F55 for weight transfer and A6 cause the computer just doesn't get the shifts wrong. Hey don't get riled up that is my opinion, it doesn't mean I am right. I just really hope you fellow LS3 owners get in on the fun and hit the tracks This is a great forum, no need to get rowdy.
Thanks glenhl, but read post #14. I am not a patient man. Headers, CAI and slicks will hopefully be on by next week. They are sitting here in my office as I type. I am shooting for 11.8's untuned.
Well, my tpw is Sep 3rd. So I wil probably get it the second week in september. I wil be picking up the car in Missouri and then heading to Colorado for a week or two. When i get back to Florida, I will take it to the track. I just moved up here where I live now, and I heare there is a track close by. I just hope it isnt 1/8 mile. And it was 102 degrees here today, so Later in september will be better anyway.

I don't blame you, I did headers and inlet right away on my 06. However, forget 11.8's, I'm predicting you'd run 11.9's stock and 11.5's with headers and inlet on a good day in Houston. I haven't tuned yet with headers and inlet, it's not an absolute necessity.
So, I sold my 01 Cammed Z28 to a very good friend in San Antonio. I've been talking about going out there to visit this winter in my Vette. Where would you recommend we go to run our cars? I guess we could drive over to Houston. I'll contact you when I head that way. Maybe we can make it a Corvetteforum gathering.
They might need to start another LS3 based list. Considering how much more powerful this car is vs the last one and the fact that 2.73 gears are available in it whereas they were not in the prior A6.
Also because this guy just burst into the #6 spot right off the bat. Presumably with relative "ease" considering the outside temperatures. Its just a matter of time before someone with 2.73s gets better weather and leapfrogs him.

Unless he cannot produce a timeslip, and I highly doubt that he can't, then there is no doubting what happened and how the car ran. Nay sayers don't have a leg to stand on with this one. LS2 vs LS3 is a non issue after this run.
Anyone wanting to throw a wet blanket over this one has to ask themselves " 12.45 in the dead of summer??? What would he have run had this been a cool, fall day??
He is 2 tenths away from the record and got that close in 84* weather
12.4, bone stock in the middle of August in Texas?????? Only a fool would try and pooh pooh that.
The stock LS3 is definitively and irrefutably quicker/faster than the stock LS2 based on these passes and the various dyno results at least. Might not be by as much as some people think but same options/same track/same driver/same day the LS3 will likely win every time IMO.
Good jub Atomic.
I don't know why everyone is so surprised that this is an A6.
It would not surprise me if this particular flavor of LS3 based C6, but with the 2.73s, takes the top three or four spots on that list http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1214565 by year's end.

Once again,
But as far as the separate list thing goes...if I don't get an LS3 then I'd want them to get their own list and leave my ETs alone LOL but if I do ultimately get one then I want all 'non LS7' C6s to remain bunched together so I can once again strive for the number 1 spot.
I kinda take my first post back. I dont think it will take a tune and a cai. With cooler weather, and some more time in the car, these cars may be able to get into the 11's right from the factory.
I've been saying this for a while now! Give me an automatic 08 with 2.73s, and I'll run well into the 11s all day long in the fall here, when we get sub 40 degree race days with density altitude of -1500 feet!
Nice numbers, congrats!
Was that with 2.73 or 2.56 gears?
He originally ordered the car with 2.73s, but they messed up and his car has 2.56s. What's even more impressive about his time is that his car is a 3LT car!
Just imagine what a 1LT A6 with 2.73s will run! Get it as light as possible, so you get the transparent roof, polished wheels and no other options.
12.45@115 (almost) in HOT and Humid weather and hotlapping it.
My 05 C6 Vert A4/3.15 ran 12.99 and 12.90@107.7 right off the street and hotlapped in cool 50 degree weather.
After a 1-1&1/2 hour cooldown it responded with a 12.57@110.67.
In cool weather I easily see your car in the 12.1s@116-117s.
The LS3s are HERE
BTW, I said 12.4@116, I knew you would equal the magazines even in bad weather.

I want an 08 so bad!!!!
Wow, those ARE impressive numbers with 2.56's. Has GREAT potential!
Mine is a 1LT, with a 6spd. Wanted to keep it as light as possible.
Fine runs, especially for first time out and the cited temp. Shows the LS3 to be a serious motor.
Congratulations to Atomic-Punk.
I am a bit confused at to why the water temp remained at generally 200F through nine passes with ambient air in the 80s. That seems cooler that my LS2 buddies see at the track in similar weather. Wonder if Chevy has adjusted the fan percentage settings for the LS3.
I would be highly amazed if you could take an 08 auto in the high 11's only on a 1.9 60ft time in stock form. Better 60ft time would get you the better ET. So, what everybody is saying, cooler weather/better condition alone would perhaps knock off 4 tenths in the quarter mile, just like that. How much horsepower do you need to knock off 4 more tenths? That is a whole lot. Then again, maybe I just don't know that much about drag racing cars. I have 25 years of experience drag racing motorcycles only. 60 ft time is the name of the game when you have identical motorcycles or power, with even riders. Those times for that particular 08 appears to be right on with the magazines. The magazine drivers can't be that bad. They did accomplish 116 mph trap speed but still 12.4, I believe.
The 08 LS3 and LS2 are 12 second cars in stock form and both cars are capable of going high 11's with bolt ons. The C6 Z06 is a 11 second car in stock form and capable of going mid 11's with bolt ons.
