For those of you planning on purchasing headers, they are long lead items. It's been 4 weeks and counting for getting my Kooks (Order placed 7/19). I was told that there would be a 3-4 week lead time up front prior to placing the order, so this in no fault to T Byrne. So if you are getting ready to do mods, you better place your order for headers first. Mine were supposed to be out of production yesterday. I have an email into T Byrne seeing what the status is today. I'm scheduled for mod installation on 8/23 if I have headers. T Byrne has been good about giving me updates on the status.

Tom - Can you double check on Kevin Matthews and help push the order. I have Carolina Auto Masters lined up for 8/23 for the install of all my mods. I cannot push my date much further out without having a big impact at work.

I see demand is outpacing supply, hope the other header companies are paying attention. Good time for a price war ?

Hi Kevin, I'll check on that package for you.

The Kooks brand tends to be very popular and they make headers for many different vehicles. Sometimes I think it's to many vehicles. A few months ago they were backordered about 600 sets! I don't think there is any good time of year to catch up. Customers keep ordering them so they midas well save some money too

Thanks - I just heard back from Carol and she said everything is going out from Kooks straight to Carolina Auto Masters today. You folks have been very good with status reporting. My hat is off to you. Seems like everyone is doing mods! Wow! - backorder of 600 sets! That's hard to even imagine!

I hope everybody on the forum knows that these are often just not off of the shelf like I was thinking. So if you are planing to mod, I would recommend ordering today!

My Kooks I bought from T Byrne are being installed tomorrow! T Byrne was very helpful in reporting the status of my order to me. Carol even called me with the tracking number when my headers shipped. Great communication!

Tom - Thanks to you for answering my questions. That's how you got my business!

JET-HOT develops, produces and applies a variety of coatings. Properties of the various coatings include insulation, corrosion resistance, abrasion and impact resistance as well as lubricity. All are applied at one of their regional factories through a meticulous, multi-step process including: thermal degreasing, abrasive-blast stripping with virgin aluminum oxide, double-coating (inside and out on headers), high temperature curing, custom packaging for return shipping, and quality-assurance controls during every phase of the procedure.

Coatings fall into the following groups:

JET-HOT 1300 - This exclusive formula works beautifully on new or used parts at temperatures up to 1,300F. Sterling is our most popular finish, this high-luster coating, containing silver powder, shares the brilliance of chrome with the subtlety of nickel. It provides the most brilliant appearance in high-temp, high-tech coatings while delivering major performance advantages. Sterling is also an extremely easy coating to keep clean. The same basic formula is available in matte black, blue and cast-iron gray.

1300 Sterling $249.99
1300 Colors $269.99

JET-HOT 2000 - Formulated for very high temperatures, this rugged coating protects substrates up to 2,450F, heat levels sometimes encountered in Rodding and Off-Road applications. Available in black, blue or grey.

2000 Black/Grey/Blue $274.99

They recently added a new coating -

JET-HOT EXTREME STERLING™ - Similar to Sterling but will hold its shine up to 1,400°F and will protect parts up to 1,700°F. This coating insulates slightly better than sterling and is semi-textured. (Made from their MC-15 formula.)

Info and more pictures of the different colors can be seen at - TBYRNE Motorsports - Jet Hot Coating
