Default Front Suspension Knock

Hey guys, sorry if this is a re-post, but I couldn't find anything by searching...

I've got a bone stock 07, Z51, MN6, coupe with about 5500 miles on it.

I noticed recently I'm hearing a rattle, or what sounds like knocking from the front of the car. It sounds like it's coming from the front passenger area. If I had to characterize it with something, it sounds almost like something is loose. I hear it when going over bumps or uneven road. I know it wasn't there before, but it is now.

I've already checked the front lug nuts and they are all tight. Is there anything else I can check that might be causing it? I'm about to leave town in the car and I don't want to have any problems.

Thanks!

I have the same thing. I just had my car on a lift and I found the right front end link to be the cause. I think I'll pick up a couple replacements at Carlisle.

Thanks guys. This last weekend I jacked the car up and tightened all 4 sway bar end link bolts. Man were those suckers tight! I almost had to bust out the breaker bar to get them any tighter. I MIGHT have gotten 1/8th to a 1/4th of a full turn (45-90 degrees) at MOST. Anyway, I've been driving it around for a few days now and the knocking seems to have gone away. Thanks again! This forum is awesome.

I know exactly what you're talking about, I have the same clunking/knocking sound on the front passenger side going over uneven roads. Will have to check my sway bar end links, although I thought they looked ok when I was changing oil just few weeks ago. But since you had to tighten it more even when it was tight already, I will try that also this weekend.
