Default Computer problem with my C6?

2 weeks ago when starting my 07 C6 (6 speed) I got a indicator message on the dashing stating "Reduced power mode" The car would not go over 800 RPM's. I had Onstar run a diagnostic and it said restricted airflow, drivetrain problem. I let the car sit for several hours and then drove it to the dealer to fix. They said it was a computer software problem and there was a service bulletin posted on it. They reprogramed the computer and sent me on my way. Today it happened again. I disconnected the battery and it seems to have reset it.
1.)Any ideals on the issue?
2.) Am I doing any damage by disconnecting the battery and fooling the system?

Remove the air intake and look inside for the carbon traps that come loose and can be sucked into the throttle body.

I just installed a new K+N CAI today, so perfect timing......I am not sure what a carbon trap is but I checked the screen covering the TB and looked into and didn't see anything. Any other ideas out there for this problem? The two times that is has happened it has been extremely hot. Is it possible to get some type of Fuel Injected "vapor lock" in the thottlebody that would cause the computer to read a air intake problem?

I have had a similiar problem with a throttle body that was sticking after it was ported. the throttle blade was scuffing when closed. Just an idea; something you can look at.
