Default Rear spring part # validation

I removed my Z-51 rear spring to install a Z06 spring. I am sure there are those with their opinions regarding this swap, but I am only looking to validate part numbers on the spring itself (not the white label, which has come off)

Z-51 spring - 22200944 1 - 2

"alleged" Z06-spring - 22200996 1 - 8

so, I need to determine if the alleged # is correct.

when I compared the two springs side by side, there was no notable differnce in thickness, width, weight, or spring curvature. I did install the other spring and am trying to determine if there is really any difference.

The rear spring on my Z06 (March 15st, 2007) says 15233392 and RJX on the label. My number matches one listed in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...p?p=1561500886

I suspect the part # you listed was from a white label - unfortunately, the label on these springs has weathered away.

The number I am referring to is actually stamped into the spring itself and believe it is on the passenger side bottom. Yeah, it's a messy job and would require someone to lift their car and crawl underneath - then again, this is one of the most favorite places to be, right?

Also, I noticed the Z-51 spring had a blue dot (quarter size) while the other spring had a yellow dot. Perhaps this is the quick identifier.

thanks for your help

Thanks for the help! I have then, in fact, the Z06 spring.
An odd note... when I "stepped" on these springs with all my weight, it appeared the Z06 spring compressed further - in other words, it tended to compress further.

Anyways, I can now start my testing to see if I can decipher any notable difference.

Again, thanks for those that aided in this little mystery of mine.
