Ok, so we're talking quater mile. Now you have to specify what kind of Vette. I've seen a 66 Vette funny car run 6s. So, we need to catagorize by year group or purpose. You mentioned mods, so I guess its safe to assume altered cars are ok and we are not talk showroom stock classes. Vette Doctors built a C5 with a solid rear and a tranny up front that runs real quick but does that fall outside your intended query? Its tough with hotroddig cause there is always somebody with more money who is going to do crazier stuff and go faster.

We have street legal Vettes in the low nines along with other shops on this forum, and I personally drive my mid nine second car everywhere, including 6-8 hr trips and cruises. However some would say since it has a roll cage it's not a street car even though it would only be faster without it.. Every ones perception is different, and usually in the favor of the person giving the opinion.
This guy is from Tulsa......... You did say "fastest" right?

"Fastest stock body Corvette in the world"
Reher-Morrison Super Series HRI 572 CID
Injected on 118 ERC fuel
The Bobby Moore took his Reher-Morrison powered stock body Corvette to an unbelievable 273-100 mph and set not one, not two, but five (5) National Speed Records at Bonneville.
His 572 CID engine (based on our Super Series 572 engine) allowed him to set the record in both the AA/GMS and the AA/GT classes at 271.61 and 268.29 mph respectively!
Bobby also set the AA/FMS class record @ 258.546 mph, the A/GMS class record @ 236.142 mph and the A/FMS class record @ 234.162 mph!!!

Here is the fastest stock c6 Z-06 ever by ranger on drag radials.(well stock as in engine any way). Drag radials as his only mod..Still, no one has matched or beat it with similar set up ever.
I tried to send this to my brother (who is a big Chrysler fan) that just read that Car & Driver article. He has a 300C SRT8 but would love to own a Viper so he could toast my regular 08. Very impressive video, but, seeing Ranger's C5 Z06 times he obviously knows how to drive.
anyone have info on the fastest modded vette of all time??
I'd like to know peformace specs as well as list of mods, etc.
thanks
Probably do need to clarify 'fastest modded" Vette some.
Jason Scruggs last weekend at the ADRL Chevy Drags set a new 1/8th mile speed record in his Pro Mod 63 Vette of 3.82 running 199.19 mph. Probably 245-250 mph if it were a 1/4th mile race and I'm sure someone in fuel funny car ranks using a Vette body has done better than that.
We’ve got local 10.5 racers running 1/8th mile “Vettes” in the 4.5 range about 165 mph. Usually running 700-800 ci (or more) Hans Fuestel, Buck or Fulton motors with three stages of nitrous. Fulton just came out with an 870ci motor with five stages of nitrous.
Reher-Morrison is about 25 miles from my house but so far they are not even competitive in the local heads-up classes though I hear they just did the first 6.0 nitrous 1/4th mile run from Shannon Jenkins Pro Mod GTO. Some pretty heavy duty LSX turbo cars working out the bugs also.
What’s the phrase………watch what ya ask for. I’d go for more along the LSX daily driver line unless you’ve got some real big plans. Hey……it’s a great time to be rich.
