Is the new pic of the cutout mine, just curious? Anyway that looks like it would be tedious on the very rear, easy to break. Thanks again for the help.

Yes this manifold is the one you sent me. It will ship out to you Monday....tomorrow. It isnt as fragile as it looks and when the glued part is in place it is very strong.

Got my fast in my shop today. Real good info here. Ill be posting some
results as well as questions on this one. Thanks to SPIN, Craig & others
who have been helpful big time. Stay tuned !
Cameron, what's the patch on the back of the manifold made out of?
Also, is anything holding the MAP sensor in or is it a friction fit?
Thanks.
As mentioed thatsmy manifold in the those pics. I asked Guy so many questions on how to, he said send it already, I'll have it done & back in no time, which was true. Thank you Guy again. The plastic he told me he picked a black plastic box from radio shack people use for electronic "build your own widget" section. Then just cut it to fill the hole. Just helped a friend do his & he picked a plastic box from Home Depot electrical section. You basically need a 90 degree 3"x2" piece of plastic & shape it. It's held in place w/ Goop (plumbing/purple tube - Home Depot). The map is as you say friction fit. Be very careful drilling the material tends to chip & a little hole can get big quick! I actually added a plastic washer attached w/ Goop to increase the thickness of the bulkhead hole for the MAP & used orange Hi-Temp RTV to ensure against a vacuum leak (both are probably overkill, but had both in hand during mod).
Is there any way to make the modifications look like it would be stock on the FAST? Most manifolds I see are painted black which really hides the modified areas. Anyone left the appearance of the FAST alone, did the modifications, and still have it look good?
You can't really see that area when its on a Vette. So, if you want to leave it gray pick up a gray box for the material and have at it. You will never see it once its on the car anyway. I'm sure if you got creative you could keep it gray and make it very, very unnoticable.
I've got some very detailed pics of the whole job including some for porting, & with grey piece (but you will never see it installed as stated). If anybody wants the more pics send a PM w/ an e-mail address. I left mine grey & it looks fine. More often than not when it gets painted black, it's not a dead on match w/ the covers so it looks worse. Grey against black, vs black on a different black, it becomes obvious you tried to match but missed the mark. I taped it off & painted the rear portion to a.) have the entire rear match the plastic piece & b.) to see what satin black looked like against the covers. Not even close! Neither does flat. Finally, in time the paint on these manifolds tends to chip & flake. Take your FAST, & lay the covers on it as it would sit in the engine bay, it'll grow on you, but this mismatched black will aggrevate you. Now if you going full tilt on you engine bay, sand the FAST lettering smooth & even the whole maifold if you really going the extra mile & paint the covers & intake together for a dead on match.

The whole world has opinions and at the end it only matters for the end user. I personally don't like the fast 90 grey because it didn't go with any color combo on my engine bay!!!
BTW, please post your grey fast 90 pics and let the forum choose which one looks better, I am all for it... Here is mine lets see yours...

Not only does your manifold match, it would appear all the fluid caps match the color of the car. You would be correct on the opinion thing. LOL . I was merely pointing out my experience, I taped off the rear & tried both flat & satin & they didn't match, but the grey matches the alternator & the red of the FAST letters matches the red on the covers. Seriously though, you seem to have been able to match the colors most I've seen both on line & in person do not, & more importantly as you state, mine didn't & thats what matters.
PS ask Guy what color his is?
PSS before anyone gets bent out of shape I'm just kidding around, the post is both information exchange & for fun.
