Differential differences...
I was wondering if I could take a manual diff with 3.42 gears and change my base A4 diff that has 2.94's? I think thats what mine has....

I got a 2005 A4 that had a 2.73 and swap to a 3.42 from a C5. You may also use a C6 3.42 from a manual.
Just make sure your mechanic has all parts need it for swap and also make sure he knows what he is doing.
plus their are no 2.94 nor 3.24.
2.73, 3.15, 3.42,etc,etc,etc...
SPECIALLY WHEN ITS TUNE!
You'll love when it shifts to 2 gear and 3rd also
I thought about 3.73 but, 3.42 are just perfect for street performance. If you are into 1/4 mile performance only then go higher 3.73, 3.90 or even 4.10's but the higher the differential the lower the top end speed and MPG.
