Default Lighting issues!!

I have searched previous posts but could not find anything. My lighting is acting strange. When I have the headlamps set to auto they work as advertised while driving but as soon as I turn off the ignition and go to get out of the car the parking lamps turn on and the door chime starts to go off to remind me that the lights are on. However, with the headlights turned to the headlamp position they too work while driving but when I turn off the ignition and get out of the car all lights turn off and no chime. Isn't this backwards? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I sometimes will get the chime, but I think it's because the car does not know where the fob is and it's not a warning for the headlights. Try closing the door and wait a few seconds to see if everything shuts off. There is a DIC setting for the exiting lights, so it could just be that and an unlocated fob.

If I shut the door the chime does go off but the parking lamps stay on when the lights are set to auto. If they are set to the headlight position I get no chime and the lights shut off when I open the door to get out. I think it may be a relay problem.

But are you sure it's not the "Twilight Delay" setting on the DIC. It could be set for 15, 30, or 90 seconds then the lights will shut off.

Edit: Here's a quote from the Manual, it only works in Auto Mode,

Twilight Delay: This option allows you to set the
amount of time you want the parking lamps and
front fog lamps to remain on after you exit the
vehicle. This will occur when the vehicle is off or in
RAP and the headlamps are on due to the
automatic headlamp system
. The parking lamps
and front fog lamps will remain on until the driver
selected time expires, the exterior lamp control is
activated or the vehicle is no longer off or in RAP.

I went back and turned the twilight delay off and the lights still stay on in auto mode. The chime activates as soon as the door opens as well. Thanks for the help but I guess I'm going to have to take it to the dealership tomorrow.
