I don't know about the rest of you guys but I for one am kind of dissapointed in the paddle shifters. I traded my 03 Z06 for this 07 Z51 A6 partly because I thought I would like the paddle shifters. I should have drove a few first. I figured the paddle shifters would be a big difference between the normal automatic shifting, especially since this is supposed to be a "world class sports car" and will be compared to other cars with paddle shifters. WRONG! This is more like my wife's car as far as shift slop and downshifting.

Get your car checked out, this tranny is no way like a regular tranny. I admit it's not a SMG, or DSG, but it does.

1. Blip throttle on downshift.
2. shift fast enough for me on S mode.

per manufacturere, auto is only .1 slower 0-60 and .2 slower than a stick in 1/4.

but I beg to differ with the perfomance axle it feels just as fast and you can put down consistant times because the computer does not miss a shift.

We have an A6, and the paddle shifters are so slow I never bother with them. I tried useing them at the track, and the car felt like it was puking on itself when it shifts. I left it in drive, and it did a little better. For the best performance, keep it in S, which shifts more aggressively. GM did it this way because the "D" shift map is more tuned towards gas milage, and efficancy...so for EPA testing and what not, they wanted it to be the standard gate. This is also why D starts in 2nd, and generally shifts slower/softer. It is always looking for the land of happy gas milage and could give a damn less about performance. The "S" shift map is designed for performance, and will do much better for you everytime at the track because it starts in first. It shift quicker, and harder...plus is much quicker to downshift if needed. I do all my regular driving in S because it is more fun.

As for the Diablo Predators...you need to be very careful who you buy from.

Diablosport only offers their warranty if you buy from an authorized dealer, and you pay the $369.95 minimum advertised price. A warranty is important because there are a lot of people out there selling used tuners, or tuners with really old software that could be buggy. The company someone linked to above is NOT a Diablo authorized dealer. If you buy from them, and the Predator fries your pcm (which is rare, but can happen if the tuner is bad), they will not honor the warranty,if you bought from an unauthorixed dealer, or paid less than $369.95. They prove all this by asking for your invoice when they provide support. Last thing you want to do is be stuck with a fried PCM, and have to get your Chevy dealer to fix it.

MarylandSpeed is a Authorized Diablosport Dealer, and we do offer the full line of Corvette tuners. Also at the $369.95 price, you get a free interface kit included, which is is a $25 value. This interface kit allows you to apply software updates to your tuner, and datalog. Our tuners are always 100% new, in stock units.
