I have a problem thats driving me crazy....My car is emitting a squeek/squeel similar to what a bad belt would soud like...this usually sounds the worst when the car is in drive and when I am just taking off. One of the problems is it is not a consistent problem, sometimes its worse form one day to another. At times it is pretty loud and is driving me nuts. I have had the car to the dealer, they replaced the belt and the alternator at my request...the issues seemed gone when I picked up the car but 2 days later it started again....any help? Has anyone experienced the same problem? I have long tube headers on the car and checked every nut & bolt but nothing seems out of place.

I have the same problem - but only when the car is cold. When it gets good and warm, it's nice and quiet. It sounds like the tensioner on my car. I swear it coming from there. I tried belt dressing but it didn't help at all.
I'm curious to see if others have this problem and how they've fixed it. I'm guessing I'm going to try a tensioner, they aren't too expensive.
