I have a black z51 automatic on oder, I plan on doing the usual mods exhaust, headers, intake tune, etc. Is it worth swapping rear end gears on these cars? And if so what is the ideal ratio. I'm not interested in top speed, but occasionaly run the 1/4 mile and like the bottom end torque. Thanks in advance.

Do you have an A4 or A6 transmission?
I just installed a 3.15 differential from RPM (along with several other mods) and I really like it so far.
You hear so many people saying that changing gears will give you the best bang for the buck in terms of a noticeable SOTP feel and although I was skeptical at first, I'm now a "believer". It's a great upgrade to the car.

I have an 07 A6.. sent you an email as well, but what was entailed on the RPM swap. I have seen the DTE stuff, but after corresonding with TJ, I am starting to lean towards this..
Any and all details appreciated.. You can PM as well.
I have found a rear diff with 3.42 gear which came out of a c5 z06. This will fit and work on my regular c5 correct? Thanks
Since this thread is 13 years old, I'm thinking that the OP has decided on his C6 2007 gearing by now.
As far as the C5 question is concerned, it may be best to post in the C5 forum, and not on the C6 forum.
Good Luck
