Default c6 headlight scrach

Hey guys, has anyone tryed to buff out a scrach on one of these headlght lenses. Gm will not just sell the lense from what I understand.

Remember that the lenses are coated so you will be taking off the coating in the area you "buff".

Can't they be wet sanded with 1000 or 1200 grit then polished ?

Default headlight scrach repair

I did try to color sand with 2000 and buff. there appears to a coating on the lense, so I have removed the scraches but now have a halo area of where the coating has warn away.......what is that coating and could it be re-sprayed?.....anyone......
