mrs 'dust is really sold on the XLR. we went and drove a couple this weekend and now she's sold on the "V". problem is, we can maybe afford a used standard XLR but the V is just way out of our price range. in addition she really likes this one color that you apparently can't get on the $100k model but you can on the base model.
so since this is basically a C6 with the 'wrong' engine, i'm thinking that we could get the base car and make a 'V' with a paxton or procharger instead.
now we found a '06 that was sold in march of this year so it's still almost new (only 2200mi) i think we can get for ~50k. throw in a couple grand for the charger and purchase a new or used 'V' hood and blammo, we have our own 'V' for just more than half of a new factory model.
so, what would CF do?
nothing?
come on, guys. go ahead unleash your slings and arrows.
i'm sure there's more to the V than just a supercharger?? but then again, i've been wrong many times before... also aftermarket s/c'ed slr won't come with a factory warranty... but if that stuff doesn't bother you, would seem liek a good alternative for much cheaper. =)
sure there are other components to the 'V' model. it's basically a s/c northstar with a Z51 suspension and brake package, special grill, hood and interior package. not much else is different.
besides, we could afford the standard one now and put the s/c on later.
