I'm piecing together a parts package for my 07 C6 LS2 and am wondering about the differences between running 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 headers and 2 1/2 or 3 inch pipes leading back to Z06 Borla exhaust.
The tuner is ordering parts now and we are in this part of the discussion so I'd be thrilled to hear some facts on this subject.
The other mods are only a Fast Intake with a good snorkel air filter unit. No cam or heads for now.
Is a 3 inch system too big for a stock LS2?
I suspect I'd loose a little low end torque with the 3 inch.
Or would the better choice be 1 3/4 with a 2 1/2 inch exhaust leading to Z06 Borla (or a C6 non-Z06 unit).
I'm looking for a little bit better breathing engine and not really after the highest HP numbers but low end torque is important for a daily driver in my opinion.
1 3/4" headers tend to be popular for the LS1 but I find that most people go with 1 7/8" for the LS2/LS3 motors. These are usually mated up to a 2 1/2" X-pipe.
