The two that I tried seemed to have the same sized opening, although I did not measure them. They also performed almost identically, starting to just crack open around 172-175 degrees. At 178 degrees neither on was fully open. Since my car cruises at that temp, that means that the thermostat is only partially open most of the time.
Of course, that assumes that the temp gauge on my DIC is as accurate as the digital thermometer that I used for my tests.
