I brought this up previously, but didn't get much discussion. -- From my experience, with other cars, changing to a higher stall convertor, dropped my E.T.'s by as much as .5, in the qtr. mile, on some cars. -- Yes, I had gears at 3.73 or lower (higher numerically) and a mild cam & headers, that's all. -- It seems that a convertor upgrade, on a otherwise stock, LS2 or especially a LS3, would put these Vettes into the high 11's, in the qtr. mile. -- What do you guys think ?

Mcwire, Gettin' my converter on the 27th and my gear, this winter. BTW, you got the 3:73, I was thinking the 3:42, alittle more conservative. Please give me your thoughts/experience. I have 07", A6 w/paddles, Kooks, Corsa Sports, hi-flo cats and tune. On the 27th addind converter, stock TB port, CAI and retune of course. Goin' foe HC, Fast w/port and loads more this winter so maybe I should go w/3:73? Decisions, decisions! Thanks in advance.

Converter should make LS2s go 11s stock and LS3s even faster. How much are the converters, and what companies are selling them? Are they a pain to change, Ive changed LS1 f-body stalls. I don't know about jumping head first into this 08 though. Someone please inlighten me.
Didn't mean to jack the thread, your right not much is talked about as far as converters here.

My experience is with non Vettes, mainly Mopars, and a couple Chevies. I'm talking about near stock cars, that ran in the high 11's to low 13's. Also had friends doing same. Plus many others at the various tracks. I certainly wasn't a pro racer, just for fun, and an occasional few rounds. -- 3.55 Mopar, and 3.73 Chevy made a great all around gear. --Sounds like you will be well into the 11's. Have fun. That's what it's all about. -- Dick
If you guys are putting 3.73 gears in A6 cars, please let us know how it drives on the street. I'd love to see a video. I'm not bashing, I just want to know how it works out.
To me that sounds like way too much gear for the A6 on anything but the track. I had a 3.73 in my 05 A4 and that was a lot of gear. Borderline, but loads of fun.

I'm not putting 3.73 gears in my Vette. --I mentioned 3.73 gears in other cars. -- Read my original post. -- Just prompted some discussion, to see if anyone agrees with me, re getting a LS2 or LS3 into, at least, the high 11's.
