Default 4.10s and traction

I know this subject has been beaten to death ...but I will be adding 4.10s in a couple of days and was wondering if I will have some tractions issues. I have a z51 mn6 07 . please inform me and explain..I have seen some conflicting opinions.

I haven't had any. Most will tell you that you will spin easier and hook quicker with gears...

Nothing to explain. I have 4.10 and have had no traction issues.

Traction problems with stock & 4;10 gears still comes down to how you launch , tires , & practice . I did 4;10's first mod with ecs & loved them. Since have added Novi & headers & feels like all hell is breaking loose thru 1st 2nd & into 3rd gear . Getting use to 4;10's is the key .

Yeah, all the guys that dont have them say there are traction issues. Guys with traction issues have a lot of power. Guys with 450-470 rwhp and 4.10's run 10 second 1/4 miles. Guys with 470rwhp and stock gears run 11's.

if you can manage the gas/clutch you will not have traction issues. The same can be said about the car stock though. Go out and drop your clutch and mash your GO pedal and see if you have traction issues - you will.

As a FYI - I never had an issue with 460rwhp and 4.10 gears and if not for being into road racing so much I would still have the 4.10 gears over my 3.73s.

410's and traction are not a problem if you know how to drive. Just remember the gas peddle isn't an on-off switch, and you wont have problems. 518rwhp here with 410's, traction is only a problem when I want it to be.

One of the reasons i chose 3;73's great for road racing and drag racing .also a pretty good crusing ratio. My C6 runs 2600 rpm's at around 70MPH......I find it the best all around ratio.NastyC6

This is a very good point. It is what you want from your car.

Spin makes a great arguement that he wants to max out the gear when he crosses the line in the 1/4 mile anything less is a waste. I make a great arguement that I want to shift less on a road race track and run each gear longer.

Neither solution is right or wrong just different types of driving and that is why ECS has not condoned a one size fits all gear for their customers.
