C-6 "nice guy"
As you see by my avatar, I normally post in the c-2 section. Had to post this here. My son called me tonight.I could tell by the sound of his voice that he was excited. He lives near the MD.PA. border. He was at a friends house tonight.It was alittle chilly so they needed some wood for a fire. My son volunteered to go to Lowes to get some wood. He parked next to a new Z-06. The owner came out and my son said "nice car". He then told him about my 63 and how it pins him to the seat when I punch it and that he can't imagine 505hp. To this the owner said "why imagine, hop in". He took him out on what I assume is Rt-83. Took it up to 140 twice. It will be at least a week before my son loses the smile. Whoever this Z-06 owner is, I am forever in your debt. It was really a nice thing to do. If I'm ever in that situation, I'll be sure to take the admirer of my car for a ride.

Cool story. Its pretty easy to get mine theoretically to that speed. The Z06 would have been easier and the fun ride would have been nice. Kinda have to have the trust factor though. Nevertheless, IBTL

Nice story and all.. but I don't think I would want my kid driving with a stranger doing 140+ mph... what if the guy was drunk.. on acid or whatever... I guess I'm just an old codger... but glad it went well and he had an awesome ride...

I know where you're coming from but I wonder how you'd feel if your son was killed doing 140 on a public highway with a stranger.
I like running fast on a road course but I wouldn't appreciate some stranger taking my son on a 140 mph public highway ego trip.

I am guessing the OP son is of legal age and knew the Z owner was going to show him what it could do...
