I am thinking about getting a differential brace to help with my terrible wheel hop on my 06 Z51. Anyone know the best one to use? How hard is it to install myself?

Mine is from DTE. I don't have a clue on the difficulty factor, but call DTE and they will steer you right.
The brace has nothing to do with eliminating wheel hop!
There are many factors that can contribute to the small, high frequency oscillations you feel as wheel hop (power, suspension, tires, road conditions, temperature, et cetera). The DTE strut will help prevent consequential damage if you detonate your differential but IMO it will do nothing to counteract wheel-hop.
Better dampers may help but your best bet might be to go with polyurethane control arm and differential mount bushings to reduce the amount of deflection in the soft stock bushings.
As a side note: I don't do extremely high RPM drops off-the-line but I've certainly done some massive burn-outs. With my slightly modified F55 suspension, I've never experienced any wheel-hop. I suspect the almost instantaneous, variable force resistance of the F55 system mitigates wheel-hop.
I really don't do any massive burnouts on the street, but on the drag strip, even leaving the line @ 1500rpms (2006 Z51 T6) and competition mode on, I get wheel hop. Am I just wasting my time & money on a diff brace, or should I go with the diff brace and the polyeuathane bushings?
I have this same set-up. I also have the Corsa Sport exhaust, sometimes my tail pipe, on the passenger side, will rub against the brace, when I adjust it, it vibrates against the frame. Just not much room for the tail pipe on the right side. Anyone have this problem or have suggestions?

The brace is a great mod (I have one) but won't help to eliminate wheel hop. Not designed to. In my experience of hundreds of drag strip runs C5 and C6 the best thing to eliminate wheel hop is get some drag radials. Stop trying to race on your street tires. The sidewalls are too hard for track use. And drag radials will make your racing so much more fun. Spinning your tires is not fun, nor is having your diff replaced. If you search the archives, you'll find most broken rears are with runflats.

I have a C5 not a C6. But just as a note I run BFG DR's at the strip and even without a 5K rpm dump, I too get A LOT of wheel hop in 1st gear. So much that I have to let off a little. I'm putting in the DTE Differential and Trans braces not to stop the wheel hop (cuz it won't/not designed to), but to hopefully keep my car from sustaining any expensive damage as a result of the hopping (case brakeages, etc.). Now, I will say I am running at full tire pressure when I'm racing.
Because my car is mostly stock in the back (4:10 gears but nothing hardened/HD), I always say that some wheelspin is your friend. However, wheelhop is not.
I would think (although not an expert) that different shocks and/or harder bushings would help make the problem go away a lot if not altogether. The ride on the street I would assume will be less "comfortable" though.
My 2 cents.
I will add that i have my car lowered with cut stock bushings and I don't really get wheel hop much at all. I even tested my posi with street tires the other day with no hop. I dunno if the lowering has anything to do with it?
